Soda bread to bake with kids
A quick and easy no-yeast soda-style bread made with yoghurt, baked at high heat for a soft centre and golden crust in under 30 minutes.

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220C and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
Step 2
Place all the ingredients except the yoghurt into a bowl and stir to combine. Add most of the yoghurt and mix until a soft dough forms, adding a little more yoghurt if the mixture feels too dry.
Step 3
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth.
Step 4
Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking tray. Press down gently with your hand to flatten slightly, then use a knife to cut a deep X into the top, slicing almost all the way through to ensure the centre cooks evenly.
Step 5
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the loaf is cooked through and lightly golden.
