Preparation
Step 1
How do you make broccoli in a skillet? Prepare the ingredients from the list. You can use fresh or frozen broccoli. If using fresh, wash it well and cut into small florets.
Step 2
How do you prep frozen broccoli? To keep the maximum vitamins and nutrients, thaw it safely: place it in a bowl in the refrigerator overnight. If you don’t have time, pour boiling water over the frozen broccoli and move straight on to cooking.
Step 3
Pour clean water into a pot (or other metal cookware), put it on the heat, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Add the broccoli to the boiling water and reduce the heat.
Step 4
Peel a couple of garlic cloves and slice them thinly.
Step 5
Once boiling, simmer the broccoli for about 7 minutes, then remove it, drain in a colander, and let the water drip off completely.
Step 6
Pour olive oil into a skillet and heat it. Add the sliced garlic and sauté over medium heat until the garlic is lightly browned. The main goal is for the garlic to infuse the oil with flavor and aroma.
Step 7
Add the broccoli to the skillet and sauté over medium heat until lightly browned on all sides, turning with a spatula for even cooking. About 5 minutes is enough - don’t keep broccoli in the skillet longer. Remove from the heat and serve. This dish pairs well with a sour-cream sauce or tomato sauce, and also with a piece of meat or chicken. Enjoy!
