- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Use all-purpose flour and milk of any fat content. Choose any neutral vegetable oil you like. If the eggs are small, use 3 instead of 2.
Step 2
Heat the milk together with the butter without bringing it to a boil. The butter should melt completely.
Step 3
Add the semolina to the hot milk, stir and leave for at least 30 minutes, preferably longer, so the semolina can swell.
Step 4
Beat the eggs with the sugar until pale and fluffy. The mixture should increase significantly in volume and become full of small air bubbles.
Step 5
Pour in the vegetable oil and beat again briefly.
Step 6
Add the soaked semolina mixture and vanilla to the beaten eggs and stir. Instead of vanilla, you can use 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar.
Step 7
Gradually add the flour mixed with baking powder, mixing well after each addition until smooth. The batter should be thick but still pourable, so add the flour according to the consistency rather than all at once.
Step 8
Prepare the filling. You can use fresh or frozen berries or fruit, such as blackcurrants, blueberries, strawberries, peaches or apples.
Step 9
If using frozen berries, thaw them first and drain off any excess juice. The original recipe uses frozen blackcurrants.
Step 10
Lightly coat the prepared berries in flour.
Step 11
Grease the multicooker bowl with butter and sprinkle it with semolina. Pour in part of the batter and distribute the berries over the top. Alternatively, you can gently fold all the berries into the batter before transferring it to the bowl.
Step 12
Pour the remaining batter over the berries.
Step 13
Close the multicooker lid and select the Bake setting for 65–70 minutes. The exact time depends on the appliance; the original recipe uses a baking temperature of about 265°F. Alternatively, bake the cake in a conventional oven at 355°F for about 50 minutes.
