Sausage pasta with sauce

This hearty sausage and pepper pasta dish combines tender pasta with a rich tomato sauce, savoury sausage, and sweet red peppers. A comforting and satisfying meal perfect for weeknight dinners.

Preparation
Step 1
Remove the casing from the sausages. Clean bell pepper and chop it to pieces.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped pepper and cook until softened.

Add the sausages to the pan, using a wooden spoon to break up the meat. Once the sausage is browned and cooked through, pour in the tomato sauce. Stir to combine and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 4
While the sauce simmers, cook the pasta in a large pan of boiling salted water following the packet instructions.
Step 5
Once the pasta is cooked, drain it well and stir it into the sausage and pepper sauce until evenly coated.
Step 6
Divide the pasta between four bowls and garnish with grated Parmesan and chopped basil, if desired. Serve immediately.
