Preparation
Step 1
How to fry sausage in batter in a pan? It’s very simple! First, prepare the listed ingredients. You can use any kind of cooked sausage to your taste. Ham can be used instead. Mayonnaise can be replaced with full-fat sour cream.
Step 2
Peel the casing off the sausage. Cut into 1 cm (0.4 inch) thick slices. If the sausage is large in diameter, cut the slices in half. I got 12 slices.
Step 3
Make the batter: In a bowl, combine a large egg, mayonnaise, and milk. Whisk thoroughly until smooth.
Step 4
If needed, salt the batter to taste. Add flour and mix until smooth. To avoid lumps, sift the flour before adding.
Step 5
You might need slightly more or less flour. The batter should be thick but still flowy - it should cling to the sausage without running off like water.
Step 6
Dip the sausage slices into the batter, coating all sides.
Step 7
Heat some vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the battered sausage in the pan and fry for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
Step 8
Flip the sausage and fry the other side until golden. Repeat with the remaining slices.
Step 9
Transfer the cooked sausage to a plate. Serve hot immediately. Enjoy!
