Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Instead of regular bread, you can use a wheat baguette or rye bread. Optionally, mix finely chopped herbs and pressed garlic into cream cheese. Pre-sliced bread saves time and looks neat on the table.
Step 2
Remove sprats from the can and shake off excess oil. To save money, you can use store-bought sprat paste instead of whole sprats.
Step 3
Wash, dry, and slice the cucumber thinly. If the skin is not tough, damaged, or bitter, peeling is not necessary.
Step 4
Spread cream cheese on the slices of bread. You can toast the bread first, but let it cool to room temperature; otherwise, the cheese may melt too quickly.
Step 5
Place two cucumber slices on each bread slice. Fresh cucumber can be replaced with pickled or salted cucumber, or you can add other vegetables like tomatoes, leek, onion, or iceberg lettuce.
Step 6
Place two smoked sprats on top of the cucumber. The number of sandwiches depends on how many sprats are in your can.
Step 7
Serve sandwiches garnished with parsley. Enjoy your meal!
