Salad with Apples, Cheese, and Eggs

How to boil hard-boiled eggs? To prevent the eggs from cracking during cooking, place them in cold water and bring to a boil over low heat. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes after the water starts boiling, then pour cold water over them and let them cool. The sharp temperature change makes the shells easier to peel.
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the eggs in advance and cool them. Use a sweet apple because the contrast with the cheese will make the salad taste brighter. So choose a saltier cheese.
Step 2
First, prepare the onion. To remove bitterness, marinate it. Peel and finely dice the onion. Then pour table vinegar over it and let it sit for 10 minutes. This is enough time to soften the onion’s taste. After the time is up, drain the onion in a sieve and rinse under running water.
Step 3
Peel the eggs and grate them on a coarse grater. I used 5 eggs and set aside one yolk for decorating the top of the salad.
Step 4
This salad is better assembled in layers because if mixed, it turns into a uniform mass and it’s hard to tell what’s inside. You can use a culinary ring or simply layer it in an ordinary salad bowl. I used a ring mold. Spread the grated eggs as the first layer, press them down lightly with a spoon, and spread mayonnaise over them. Then layer the marinated onions on top.
Step 5
Peel the apple. Grate it on a coarse grater as well.
Step 6
Place the grated apple as the next layer. Spread mayonnaise on top.
Step 7
Grate the cheese on a medium grater. A coarse grater will make the pieces too big, so use medium.
Step 8
Spread the cheese as the third layer, pressing it down lightly. Carefully spread mayonnaise over the cheese. Place the salad in the refrigerator to soak. Then remove the ring and decorate as desired. I grated the reserved egg yolk on top.
Step 9
Serve the salad. Enjoy your meal!
