About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
The ingredient amounts and proportions are approximate. Soy sauce lovers can add more, but keep in mind it’s salty. You may also add some spices like ground pepper to make the cucumbers spicier.
Step 2
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and cut them into chunks. Then cut each piece in half so the inner flesh is visible.
Step 3
Lightly press each cucumber piece with a knife to slightly flatten it. Transfer all smashed cucumbers into a large bowl.
Step 4
Peel a few garlic cloves, rinse them, and press them through a garlic press directly into the bowl with the cucumbers.
Step 5
Drizzle the cucumbers with soy sauce and vegetable oil. If the soy sauce isn't enough, you may lightly salt the cucumbers.
Step 6
Gently mix everything so the cucumbers absorb the soy sauce from all sides. Let them sit for about 5 minutes and serve. Place them in a serving bowl and optionally garnish with sesame seeds. Enjoy!
