About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
The weights are listed in grams and milliliters, but you can also use a multicooker measuring cup. The ratio is 1 cup of rice to 6 cups of liquid. You can use all milk or a mix of milk and water. Use round-grain rice (not parboiled), or it won’t become soft.
Step 2
Peel the pumpkin by carefully slicing off the skin in small pieces. Be cautious, as pumpkin is very firm. Remove the seeds. If you're using the upper part of a dessert pumpkin, it may be seedless. Cut the pumpkin into small cubes or grate it coarsely. Grated pumpkin will dissolve into the porridge, giving it a bright orange color.
Step 3
Rinse the rice well under cool running water. Add it to the multicooker bowl. Then add the pumpkin, salt, and sugar (adjust to your taste). Pour in the milk and water (or just milk). Place the bowl into the multicooker and close the lid. Select a setting suitable for cooking porridge. On my model, it’s “Milk Porridge” – an automatic setting that doesn’t require setting the time.
Step 4
If you need to set the time manually, choose 40 minutes. Press start. After the end signal, open the lid and stir in the butter. The porridge will be a bit runny - if you'd like it thicker, activate the “Keep Warm” mode for 20 minutes or just leave it under the lid to thicken. Timing may vary depending on your model.
Step 5
Serve the porridge warm. Enjoy!
