Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Choose large, pitted prunes, preferably soft. Boil an egg hard, cool, peel, and separate the yolk from the white. Only the yolk is needed.
Step 2
Rinse the prunes. If they are too dry, cover with boiling water and let soak for about 10 minutes.
Step 3
Drain the prunes in a colander and pat dry with paper towels. Make a cut on one side of each prune with a sharp knife.
Step 4
Grate cheese on a fine grater. Any cheese will do - hard, semi-hard, or soft like mozzarella. I use two types: hard for skewering, and soft cream cheese for the filling.
Step 5
Toast walnuts in a dry skillet, then crush into fine crumbs.
Step 6
In a bowl, combine soft cheese, walnuts, crumbled boiled yolk, and pressed garlic.
Step 7
Season with salt, pepper, add mayonnaise, and mix. Optionally, you may add the whole boiled egg.
Step 8
Stuff the prepared prunes with the cheese-walnut mixture.
Step 9
Cut hard cheese into small rectangles, about the same size as the prunes.
Step 10
Remove olives from the brine, pat dry, and slice into rings.
Step 11
Assemble: place an olive ring on each stuffed prune, set the prune on a piece of hard cheese, and secure with a toothpick. Arrange on a plate and serve. Enjoy!
