Preparation
Step 1
How do you make prunes in chocolate? Rinse the prunes, pour hot water over them for 5 minutes, then rinse again and pat dry with paper towels. Don’t leave the prunes in hot water for too long, or they’ll turn mushy and you won’t be able to shape the candies. Rinse the walnuts and dry them on paper towels as well.
Step 2
If you have whole, large prunes that can fit a piece of walnut inside, stuff them with walnuts. If your prunes are small (like mine), make a “paste” for the candies by blending the prunes in a blender.
Step 3
Shape a small oval from the prune paste (wet your hands with water if needed), make an indentation, insert a walnut, and pinch closed on top.
Step 4
Shape all the candies this way. From the stated amount of ingredients, I got 12 pieces. Put the candies in the refrigerator (cold candies are easier to coat with glaze).
Step 5
To make the glaze, break the chocolate into pieces, put it into a ceramic microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on “defrost” for 20 seconds.
Step 6
Take out the bowl and stir the chocolate, then microwave again for 20 seconds and stir - repeat until the chocolate is fully melted. If the glaze is too thick, add 1 tbsp butter and mix.
Step 7
Remove the candies from the refrigerator and place them on a rack. Put a plate or large dish underneath so excess glaze can drip off - you can later collect it and use it for fritters, crêpes, pancakes, etc.
Step 8
Pour glaze over each candy, spreading it evenly (I used a teaspoon). Refrigerate until the glaze sets. That’s it - delicious, natural homemade candies are ready. Enjoy your meal!
