Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven in advance to 220°C (about 428°F).
Step 2
Peel the potatoes, onion and garlic.
Step 3
Grate the onion on a coarse grater or run it through a meat grinder.
Step 4
Grate the garlic on a fine grater or press it through a garlic press.
Step 5
Add the onion, garlic, salt to taste and one egg to the ground chicken.
Step 6
Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 7
Cut the potatoes into slices (rounds). If you’re not sure the potatoes will bake through later, at this stage you can blanch them in boiling water for a couple of minutes.
Step 8
Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. My dish is 18×32 cm (about 7×12½ inches).
Step 9
Spread half of the sliced potatoes over the bottom of the dish.
Step 10
Place half of the prepared minced chicken over the potatoes. Add a little salt. Then again lay out the remaining potatoes, salt them, and place the second half of the mince on top.
Step 11
Smooth everything out and press down gently with a spatula.
Step 12
Finally, spread mayonnaise in an even layer on top so that the meat is completely covered.
Step 13
Cover the dish with foil and place it in the preheated 220°C (428°F) oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes until golden. When finished, leave the dish in the turned-off oven for 30 minutes. It will cool slightly and finish cooking through. The exact time depends on your oven.
Step 14
The potatoes with ground chicken are ready. Enjoy your meal!
