Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use sour cream of any fat content. I use 20%. Besides the spices listed, feel free to use your own to taste.
Step 2
Wash, peel, and slice the potatoes into thin rounds about 3 mm thick.
Step 3
Grate the cheese coarsely. You can use any cheese as long as it melts well and tastes good. You can substitute mozzarella, bryndza, parmesan, etc.
Step 4
Thoroughly grease a baking dish (mine is 27 cm in diameter) with butter. Arrange half the potato slices overlapping like roof tiles.
Step 5
Salt and pepper the potatoes on top, then spread half the sour cream evenly over them.
Step 6
Sprinkle some of the cheese over the sour cream layer.
Step 7
Layer the remaining potatoes on top, season again, spread the rest of the sour cream, and sprinkle the remaining cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 50 minutes. If the top browns but the dish is not done, cover the dish with foil.
Step 8
Serve the finished potatoes hot, cut into portions. Enjoy your meal!
