Potato Cutlets with Cheese and Ham

Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients and spices for this delicious homemade potato dish with filling.
Step 2
In a large bowl, grate about 2.9 pounds (1.3 kg) of peeled, pre-boiled potatoes (boiled in their skins without salt) using a coarse grater.
Step 3
Place a frying pan on the stove, pour in about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, add one finely chopped onion, and sauté over high heat until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Add ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg, 1 teaspoon of salt, a mix of ground peppers to taste, and 2 eggs to the grated potatoes.

Mix everything thoroughly by hand until a smooth, even potato mixture forms.

Add the sautéed onion to the potato mixture and let it cool slightly.

For the filling, grate 1.8 oz (50 g) of cheese on a fine grater and 3.5 oz (100 g) of ham on a coarse one.

Add finely chopped fresh dill to taste.

Add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and mix all ingredients well - the filling is ready.

Lightly oil your hands, take some potato mixture, and flatten it into a small patty.

Place about 2 teaspoons of filling in the center, then seal the edges and shape the cutlet.

Roll each cutlet in all-purpose flour.
