Advice
Besides pork, you can use any type of meat in this dish. Keep in mind that cooking time, flavor, and calorie content will vary. For example, beef takes longer to cook than pork, while chicken or turkey takes less time.
Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients. You can use pork, beef, chicken, or turkey. Cooking time and calories will vary depending on your choice. Use any neutral vegetable oil suitable for frying. Adjust spices to your liking.
Step 2
Rinse the pork and pat it dry thoroughly. If using a whole piece, slice it into ½-inch (about 1 cm) thick pieces. You can also use pork neck. Tenderize the meat with a meat mallet on both sides. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Peel the kiwis and slice them into rounds.
Step 4
Peel the onion and cut into half-rings or quarter-rings. If you or your kids don’t like onions, you can skip them.
Step 5
Grate the cheese using a coarse grater. Any cheese will work, as long as it melts well and tastes good.
Step 6
Heat part of the vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the pork slices and fry on both sides until golden and fully cooked – since the meat will only bake for 20 minutes in the oven.
Step 7
In the same skillet, heat the remaining oil. Add the onion and sauté until golden.
Step 8
Place the cooked pork in a baking dish. Spread mayonnaise on top of each piece.
Step 9
Distribute the sautéed onions over the mayonnaise layer.
Step 10
Place kiwi slices on top of the onion.
Step 11
Sprinkle everything with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Adjust time based on your oven, ingredients, and preferences.
Step 12
Transfer the finished meat with kiwi to a serving plate. Serve with your favorite side dish. Enjoy your meal!
