Preparation
Step 1
How do you make delicious pork in teriyaki sauce in a pan? Very easily. First, prepare all the ingredients. Besides pork, you can also use beef, lamb, chicken or turkey, but keep in mind that the calorie content and cooking time will change.
Step 2
Wash and pat the pork dry, then cut it into medium pieces. Use boneless pork only. Choose any cut you like, such as ham, shoulder, loin, neck or tenderloin. I used shoulder and trimmed off the excess fat.
Step 3
Place the meat in a bowl and pour over the teriyaki sauce.
Step 4
Add starch and spices, then mix well. Depending on the brand, teriyaki sauce may be very thin or already slightly thickened. If your sauce is thicker, you can skip the starch. Leave the meat to marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Now prepare the vegetables for the side dish. You can skip the vegetable garnish entirely or replace it with another side of your choice. Zucchini can be replaced with regular courgette.
Step 6
Peel the onion and slice it into half-moons.
Step 7
Remove the seeds and stem from the bell peppers and cut them into rings or strips. It’s best to use peppers of different colors so the side dish looks brighter and more appealing.
Step 8
Wash the zucchini and cut it into medium pieces. I used a small zucchini, so I cut it into quarter slices.
Step 9
Place the pork together with the sauce into a well-heated pan and fry over high heat, stirring, for about 10–15 minutes until cooked through. The exact cooking time will depend on your pan and the size of the meat pieces.
Step 10
In another pan, heat some vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the zucchini, bell peppers and onion. Fry, stirring, for about 5–7 minutes until the vegetables are cooked but still pleasant in texture.
Step 11
At the very end, season the vegetables with salt and pepper and stir. The garnish is ready. It is best to cook the meat and vegetables at the same time in two pans so everything is ready together.
Step 12
Arrange the fried vegetables and the pork on plates. If you like, sprinkle the dish with sesame seeds and chopped parsley. Enjoy your meal!
