Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all ingredients. Besides pork, you can use beef, lamb, chicken, or turkey. Note that cooking time and calories will vary. Use any beer you like: dark or light. Dark beer makes a richer, darker sauce.
Step 2
Wash, dry, and cut pork into medium pieces. Use boneless meat only. Choose any part: ham, shoulder, loin, neck, tenderloin, etc. I used ham.
Step 3
Peel and slice onions into half-rings.
Step 4
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add pork and fry, stirring, 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
Step 5
Pour in beer and simmer over low heat 40-50 minutes until pork is tender. At the end, pour sauce into a bowl.
Step 6
Reduce heat to medium. Add sliced onions to the skillet with the pork.
Step 7
Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper. Fry, stirring, about 5 minutes. You can add other spices if desired.
Step 8
Return the beer sauce to the skillet with the meat. Simmer together 5-7 more minutes.
Step 9
Transfer pork in beer to a plate, sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs, and serve. Enjoy!
