Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all ingredients for the pizza and knead the dough. Use high-quality flour and any vegetable oil (I use olive oil).
Step 2
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well. Use yeast that can be added directly to flour without pre-activation.
Step 3
Pour warm water (37-40°C / 98-104°F) and vegetable oil into the flour mixture.
Step 4
Knead into a smooth, slightly sticky dough. Add a bit more flour if needed, but don’t overdo it - it should stay soft.
Step 5
Cover the bowl with a towel and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour until it rises.
Step 6
While the dough rises, prepare the sauce and toppings. You can use store-bought pizza sauce, ketchup, or tomato paste, but homemade is best.
Step 7
Peel the tomatoes and grate the pulp finely. (To peel easily, score an “X” on top and dip them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes.)
Step 8
In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the tomatoes, season with Italian herbs, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Step 9
Prepare the toppings. You can replace olives with green olives and salami with any sausage. Drain mozzarella and olives from brine and pat dry.
Step 10
Slice the sausage into thin rounds.
Step 11
Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and slice into thin rings.
Step 12
Cut the cherry tomatoes in half.
Step 13
Grate mozzarella and Parmesan (young Parmesan grates more easily).
Step 14
Spread the risen dough in a 30 cm (12-inch) pizza pan. The dough is soft and easy to shape by hand. No need to grease the pan. For thicker crust, let it rest 10-15 minutes.
Step 15
Brush the dough with tomato sauce.
Step 16
Arrange whole basil leaves and salami slices on top.
Step 17
Add the bell pepper rings and sprinkle with oregano.
Step 18
Arrange the halved cherry tomatoes and olives.
Step 19
Sprinkle grated Parmesan and mozzarella on top.
Step 20
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (355°F) for 15-20 minutes.
Step 21
Sprinkle the finished pizza with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot. Enjoy!
