Easy
About 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
Start by preparing all the necessary ingredients from the list. Instead of horseradish leaves, you can use dill heads, cherry or currant leaves. You can also add peppercorns or a bit of fresh hot pepper to the jars if desired.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash the cucumbers and soak them in cold water for a couple of hours to remove any bitterness.
Step 3
Wash the jars well with baking soda and sterilize them along with the lids. Place peeled garlic, washed horseradish leaves, and bay leaves at the bottom of the jars.
Step 4
Next, place the cucumbers in the jars. It’s best to use small cucumbers, as they will fit nicely and look more attractive in the jars.
Step 5
Wash the cherry tomatoes and fill the jars to the top with them.
Step 6
Pour boiling water into the jars gradually to avoid cracking. Cover the jars with lids and let them sit for 15-20 minutes. Then, pour the water out into the sink.
Step 7
Add salt and sugar to the jars. I used 3 jars of 700 ml each. So, for each jar, use 1/3 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Fill the jars with boiling water again, add 1/3 teaspoon of essence to each jar, and seal them with lids.
Step 8
Flip the jars upside down and cover them with something warm. Let them cool completely for 1-2 days. Then, turn them back and store in a cool place. Enjoy your meal!
