Pickled Cabbage Salad with Carrots and Garlic

Step 1
First, prepare all necessary ingredients and spices for making crunchy pickled cabbage.

To make the marinade, place a suitable pot on the stove, pour in 1 liter of water, then add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and 100 grams of sugar.

Add 10 black peppercorns, 4 dried cloves, and 4 bay leaves to the pot.

Mix all ingredients well, cover the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, and simmer the marinade for 10 minutes.

Slice 2 kg of white cabbage into fine strips and place it in a large pot.

Pour 100 ml of vegetable oil and 100 ml of 9% table vinegar into the pot with cabbage. Cover and simmer the marinade for exactly 2 minutes.

Grate 2 carrots on a large grater, then add them to the cabbage and mix the vegetables well.

Slice 4 garlic cloves thinly and crush them, then add to the cabbage mixture.
