Perfect Fried Meat Turnovers

Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients and spices for making perfect juicy meat turnovers.

Pour 250 ml, about 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon, of boiling water into a measuring cup, then add 1 teaspoon of salt and stir.
Step 3
Put 500 g, about 17.6 oz, of flour into a deep bowl and add 50 g, about 1.8 oz, of mayonnaise.
Step 4
Pour the boiling water from the cup into the bowl with the flour and mix all the ingredients with a mixer.

Continue kneading the dough in the bowl by hand and gather it into a ball.

Place the dough on the table and knead it very well for 7 minutes.

Put the dough into a plastic bag for 30 minutes.

Put 300 g, about 10.6 oz, of finely chopped onion into a bowl and add salt to taste.

Mash the onion well in the bowl until it releases its juice.

Add cumin and a mixture of black and red pepper to taste to the bowl.

Add 300 g, about 10.6 oz, of prepared ground meat to the bowl with the onion.

Mix the ground meat with the onion in the bowl until smooth and even.

Add 100 ml, about 3.4 fl oz, of beef broth to the bowl with the filling and mix all the ingredients well.

Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the table and, after dividing the dough into pieces, roll each piece into a thin flat round.

Use a lid of a suitable size to mark the shape on the round and cut out the pastry pieces for the turnovers.

Roll each cut-out piece even thinner.

Spread the needed amount of ground meat filling evenly on each round, placing it closer to one edge.

Fold the round in half and, pressing it with your palms, release the air.

Using a fork, press and seal the edges of the turnover well on both sides.

Heat a skillet with vegetable oil on the stove and place the turnovers into the hot oil, frying them on each side until golden brown.

Place the fried turnovers on a paper towel so the excess fat can drain off.
