- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients. Use large bell peppers - firm, not wilted. Different colors make the dish bright and attractive. For filling, use any meat you like - pork, chicken, or beef works well.
Step 2
Wash the bell peppers, pat dry. Slice off the tops and remove seeds.
Step 3
Prepare the minced meat. Choose lean ground meat - beef, pork, or a mix. You can grind it yourself.
Step 4
Cook rice in plenty of salted water until ready, then drain. Rice should be fluffy. You can prepare it ahead of time.
Step 5
Wash tomatoes and cut into small cubes. Fresh tomatoes can be replaced with the same amount of canned chopped tomatoes.
Step 6
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 7
Peel and finely dice the onion.
Step 8
Finely chop the garlic.
Step 9
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion until translucent.
Step 10
Add tomato paste and garlic. Fry, stirring, 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Step 11
Add the minced meat. Fry, stirring and breaking lumps, 5-6 minutes until the meat changes color.
Step 12
Add cooked rice and chopped tomatoes to the skillet. Mix well.
Step 13
Season with salt, pepper, oregano. You may also add paprika, khmeli-suneli, or ground coriander. Cook until excess liquid evaporates.
Step 14
Grease a baking dish with oil. Place peppers upright and stuff them tightly with filling. Choose a dish where they stand snugly.
Step 15
Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-35 minutes. Baking time may vary; peppers should be soft but keep shape without bursting.
Step 16
Remove foil. Sprinkle peppers with grated cheese. Return to oven for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts.
Step 17
Before serving, sprinkle with chopped herbs. Enjoy!
