Preparation
Step 1
How to make pear cake in the oven? Measure out the ingredients. It’s best to use a juicy, sweet pear. Take the butter out of the refrigerator ahead of time so it softens.
Step 2
Any plain chocolate works: dark or milk. Chop the chocolate into small pieces.
Step 3
Beat the softened butter with sugar using a mixer until smooth and creamy.
Step 4
Add the eggs to the butter mixture. It’s best to add them one at a time, beating after each addition until smooth - this helps them blend evenly.
Step 5
Sift the flour mixed with baking powder into the batter. Sifting aerates the flour so the cake rises well.
Step 6
Mix the batter until completely smooth. It will be thick and sticky, like thick sour cream. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
Step 7
Wash the pear and pat dry. Remove the core and seeds; peel if desired. Cut the pear into small pieces.
Step 8
Add the chocolate, pear, and pumpkin seeds to the batter. Pumpkin seeds can be replaced with any nuts. Pine nuts are especially tasty. Other nuts can be lightly toasted and finely chopped beforehand. Mix the batter well.
Step 9
Line the bottom of the baking pan with parchment. Grease the sides with a thin layer of butter or vegetable oil and dust with flour. My pan was 20 cm (about 8 in) in diameter.
Step 10
Bake in a preheated 180°C (356°F) oven for about 30-35 minutes, until golden. Check doneness with a wooden skewer - it should come out dry from the center. Remove the finished cake from the oven, let it cool, and take it out of the pan.
Step 11
Slice the pear cake into portions and serve. Enjoy!
