Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Rinse the chicken liver under running water and place it on a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse it in cold water. Cut the cleaned onion into half rings or slightly smaller pieces. Do not cut too finely, as the onion will soften significantly during cooking and will be less visible.
Step 3
Cut the chicken liver into large pieces.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan until hot and add a little vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and fry for 1-2 minutes on low heat until translucent.
Step 5
Add the prepared chicken liver to the pan. Mix it with the onion and cook for 9-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Chicken liver cooks quickly - do not overcook.
Step 6
To check for doneness, break the largest piece - there should be no pink juice inside. Fully cooked liver should be uniformly gray. For safety, cook for another minute if needed. Season with salt and ground pepper to taste.
Step 7
Pan-fried chicken liver with onions is ready! The perfect side dish is mashed potatoes or boiled rice. Serve onto plates and enjoy!
