Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
If your honey has crystallized, melt it first. You can change the spice mix to your liking. A pinch of ground ginger adds a bit of heat. Or simply use 1-2 tbsp of ready-made chicken seasoning.
Step 2
Wash the chicken drumsticks thoroughly and pat them dry. You can use any part of the chicken, not just drumsticks.
Step 3
Place the drumsticks into a bowl. Add vegetable oil, lemon juice, and liquid honey. Mix well. Any vegetable oil works; I used sunflower.
Step 4
Add dried garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly. You can replace dried garlic with 2 fresh cloves pressed, but fresh garlic may burn in the skillet. Let the chicken marinate for 1 hour at room temperature, or longer in the fridge.
Step 5
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the drumsticks inside. Pour half of the marinade from the bowl on top. Fry for 5-8 minutes. Flip, pour in the remaining marinade, and fry for about 15 more minutes. Turn the drumsticks 1-2 more times while cooking to get a golden crust all around. Alternatively, place the drumsticks in a baking dish, pour the marinade over, and bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 40 minutes until fully cooked.
Step 6
Transfer the fried drumsticks to a plate, drizzle with the leftover sauce from the skillet, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve. Enjoy your meal!
