Preparation
Step 1
How do you make chicken breasts in soy sauce? Prepare the ingredients. Instead of chicken breasts, you can use chicken fillet. Use refined, odorless vegetable oil. Choose natural soy sauce with no additives.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken breasts, pat dry, and remove the skin. Carefully separate the meat from the bones with a knife. Cut the breasts into portion-sized pieces.
Step 3
How to marinate the meat? Place the chicken pieces in a container of suitable size. Add vegetable oil, and any spices/seasonings to taste. I used a mixed dried herb blend (about 1½ tsp). Mix well.
Step 4
Pour soy sauce over the chicken and mix. The sauce should coat all pieces well. Leave the meat to marinate for 30 minutes. During this time, the spices will release their flavor and aroma and the meat will absorb the marinade. While marinating, you can turn the pieces so it marinates more evenly.
Step 5
Heat a skillet and add the chicken pieces. Over medium-high heat, fry until nicely browned on one side.
Step 6
Turn the pieces and brown the other side. The crust will seal the juices inside, keeping the meat juicy and tender.
Step 7
Continue cooking, lowering the heat to medium. Add the remaining soy sauce to the skillet in portions. Cover with a lid and simmer the chicken for 10-12 minutes, turning the pieces occasionally.
Step 8
When all the moisture has evaporated, remove the lid and increase the heat. Fry the chicken for 1-2 more minutes until nicely browned, turning so it gets an even appetizing crust.
Step 9
Serve the chicken breasts in soy sauce with any side dish or with fresh vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
