Easy
More than 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
Sift the flour ahead of time to enrich it with oxygen. This helps make the dough fluffier and rise better. Choose cheese that melts easily and grates well.
Step 2
Warm the milk to about 95–98°F (35–37°C). It should feel warm to the touch, not hot. Add dry yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix until the yeast dissolves.
Step 3
Add vegetable oil to the bowl and gradually add flour. Adjust the amount based on the dough’s consistency—it might need slightly more or less.
Step 4
The finished dough should be soft, elastic, and form easily into a ball. Cover the bowl with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 5
For the filling, use cooked sausage and cheese. You can slice them, cube them, or grate them coarsely like in this recipe for a smoother texture in the final result.
Step 6
This dough makes about 15 buns. You can divide it into more or fewer parts depending on the size you want. Flatten each piece, place filling inside, and seal into a bun.
Step 7
Heat oil in a skillet and place buns inside. Cook on low heat for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden. Adjust time based on your stove.
Step 8
Place cooked buns in a bowl. For a softer texture without a crunchy crust, cover with a towel. Enjoy your pan-fried sausage and cheese buns!
