Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use ready-made or homemade raw sausages. If they are frozen, thaw them slowly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator.
Step 2
Prepare the sauce by combining the sour cream and tomato sauce in a small bowl. Use sour cream of any fat percentage or replace it with mayonnaise. The tomato sauce can be replaced with ketchup or tomato paste. Add salt, ground black pepper and your preferred seasonings, then press in the peeled garlic cloves.
Step 3
Mix the sauce thoroughly until smooth and evenly combined.
Step 4
Scrub the potatoes well under running water, then peel and dry them. Cut them into evenly sized wedges. Cut medium potatoes into 4–6 pieces and large ones into 8–10 pieces so they cook at the same rate.
Step 5
Cut a 28–32-inch piece of roasting bag and secure one end with a clip or knot. Place the potato wedges inside, arrange the sausages on top and pour over the sauce. Add a little more salt if needed.
Step 6
Mix the ingredients carefully inside the roasting bag so the sauce coats everything evenly. Secure the open end, place the bag in a baking dish or on a baking sheet and tuck the ends underneath. Pierce the top several times with a toothpick to allow steam to escape.
Step 7
Bake at 350°F for 45–60 minutes, depending on your oven and the quantity of food. For a more deeply browned finish, carefully cut open the roasting bag about 15 minutes before the end and continue baking uncovered.
Step 8
Remove the dish from the oven and carefully cut open the roasting bag, avoiding the hot steam. Serve the sausages and potatoes while hot.
