About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
How do you make oven-baked saury and egg sandwiches? Prepare the ingredients. Boil the eggs in advance and let them cool. It is best to use plain canned fish, without additions such as tomato sauce or oil. If that is the only kind you have, do not use mayonnaise.
Step 2
Cut the onion as finely as possible, or grate it.
Step 3
Open the can and drain off the liquid. Mash the fish with a fork until it resembles a pâté.
Step 4
Add the onion to the fish and mix.
Step 5
Peel the eggs. Grate them on a coarse grater. You can also finely chop them with a knife or mash them with a fork, like the fish. Mix.
Step 6
Add the mayonnaise and mix.
Step 7
Grate the cheese. You can use either a coarse or fine grater; it does not really matter.
Step 8
Carefully spread the filling over the slices of bread using a large spoon. Place them on a baking sheet. You can grease the baking sheet with oil or line it with baking paper. I used a Teflon mat.
Step 9
Sprinkle each sandwich with grated cheese.
Step 10
Bake the sandwiches in the oven at 200°C / 392°F for about 15 minutes. Serve hot.
