Oven-Baked Pink Salmon with Onion
Juicy and incredibly appetizing! A quick family dinner. Oven-baked pink salmon with onion turns out not dry at all, because it bakes under an “coat” of onion and mayonnaise. The onion also adds aroma and makes it more filling. Prep takes just about 5 minutes - the oven does the rest.

Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake pink salmon with onion and mayonnaise in the oven? Prepare the ingredients. I’m using pink salmon already cut into steaks, but you can buy a whole fish and cut it yourself. The weight given is for the parts you’ll bake. You can cut it any way - steaks like mine, or wide skin-on fillets. Mayonnaise can be replaced with sour cream. Preheat the oven to 190°C / 374°F.
Step 2
Peel the onion and slice it into very thin strips - this helps it bake through better.
Step 3
Put the onion into a bowl and add mayonnaise. Mix the onion with the mayonnaise.
Step 4
Take a baking dish. You don’t have to grease it because the mayonnaise will prevent sticking. To make cleanup easier, you can line the dish with foil. Arrange the pink salmon pieces in the dish. Salt them on top and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. You can also use any fish seasoning.
Step 5
Spread the onion-and-mayonnaise mixture over the fish. Besides onion, you can also add grated carrot and cheese to the topping.
Step 6
Bake the pink salmon with onion in the preheated 190°C / 374°F oven for 30-40 minutes. Exact time depends on your oven and the thickness of the pieces. Judge by appearance - the onion should turn golden.
Step 7
Remove the dish from the oven and serve. Enjoy your meal!
