Oven-Baked Ground Meat Cutlets with Cheese
Tender, appetizing, and incredibly tasty, perfect for dinner! Ground meat cutlets baked in the oven with cheese are a wonderful alternative when ordinary cutlets feel boring. They are very easy to make from simple ingredients, and they turn out juicy, with a cheesy crust on top and a ready-made creamy gravy for the side dish.

Step 1
How do you bake cutlets with cheese in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can use store-bought ground meat, but I prefer making the cutlets from ground meat prepared at home. The meat can be any kind: beef, pork, chicken, or turkey. Just keep in mind that cooking time will vary depending on the type of meat. Use any cheese you like, either hard or soft. The main thing is that it melts well and tastes good.
Step 2
How do you make the ground meat? Wash the meat, mine is pork, cut it into pieces, and pass it through a meat grinder with a fine plate. Put the ground meat into a bowl and crack in the egg.

Add salt and pepper to the ground meat and mix until smooth.
Step 4
To keep the cutlets from falling apart and help them hold their shape, beat the prepared ground meat. To do this, gather the ground meat in your hand, lift it over the bowl, and throw it back in. Do this 10 to 15 times. At the end you will feel that the ground meat has become denser and more elastic.
Step 5
Grease a baking dish with a thick bottom with a small amount of vegetable oil. Shape the ground meat into cutlets, I got four, and place them in the dish. Make a long groove along each cutlet. The dish should be slightly larger than the cutlets.
Step 6
Prepare the gravy. How do you make the gravy? Place a thick-bottomed frying pan over medium heat. Add the butter and melt it. Sift the wheat flour into the pan. You can use either all-purpose or bread flour.

Mix the flour with the butter until smooth.
Step 8
Pour in the milk little by little, mixing well each time until smooth. Do not pour in all the milk at once, because it will be very difficult to make the mixture smooth.
Step 9
Wash the herbs and chop them finely. Add them to the pan with the gravy. It can be dill, parsley, cilantro, or any herb you like.
Step 10
Mix, add salt, and cook the gravy until it thickens, about 2 minutes.
Step 11
Remove the pan from the heat and pour the gravy over the cutlets and into the spaces between them.

Grate the cheese on a coarse or fine grater and sprinkle it over the cutlets.

Place the dish into a hot oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake the ground meat cutlets with cheese for 40 minutes, until done and golden brown.
Step 14
Remove the dish from the oven and immediately place the cutlets onto plates. Any side dish will work well with them, and they can also be served with fresh vegetables.
