Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake grated potatoes with minced meat in the oven? Prepare the ingredients. Any kind of potato will work. My minced meat is turkey and pork, already mixed with onion and garlic. You can use minced meat from any type of meat, either store-bought or ground at home. Prepare a baking dish, mine is a ceramic one measuring 20 by 20 cm, about 8 by 8 inches. Turn the oven on to preheat to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Wash the potatoes and peel them. Grate the potatoes into a deep bowl using a coarse grater, then drain the liquid that forms. To keep the potatoes from darkening, you can immediately add 1 tablespoon of sour cream.
Step 3
Grate the cheese you chose on a coarse grater, set aside about 30 g, about 1 oz, and add the rest to the grated potatoes. Also add 2 cracked eggs and salt to the potatoes, then mix until the ingredients are combined.
Step 4
Grease the chosen baking dish with vegetable oil and spread half of the potato and cheese mixture into it. Distribute the mixture evenly over the bottom of the dish.
Step 5
Peel the onion and garlic and chop them in any way you like, but the finer, the better. Add them to the minced meat. Add salt and knead the meat well until smooth. Spread the minced meat evenly over the potato layer.
Step 6
Spread the second half of the potato and cheese mixture evenly over the minced meat.
Step 7
Crack the remaining egg into a bowl, add the sour cream and the reserved cheese. Mix the ingredients evenly and spoon or pour the mixture over the top potato layer. Spread the cheese mixture evenly. Put the dish with the casserole into the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. The time will depend on the power of your oven and on the dish you chose - the thicker the casserole, the more time it will need to cook through.
Step 8
Carefully remove the finished casserole from the oven. Cut it into portions and serve with fresh vegetables and herbs. Enjoy your meal!
