Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
You can use milk of any fat content. For greasing the baking dish, use neutral vegetable oil or butter.
Step 2
Grate the cheese on a medium grater - it will melt faster. You can use any cheese that melts well.
Step 3
Crack eggs into a large bowl. Add salt, baking soda, and flour. Pour in the milk.
Step 4
Beat everything with a mixer until smooth. If you don’t have a mixer, whisk thoroughly by hand.
Step 5
Add the grated cheese into the egg-milk mixture. At this stage, you can also add your favorite spices and chopped herbs.
Step 6
Mix the batter well.
Step 7
Grease a baking dish (about 8.5 × 6.5 inches / 22 × 17 cm) with a little oil or butter. Pour in the omelet mixture.
Step 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes. Do not open the oven while baking or the omelet will deflate. Check doneness: the top should be golden, and a toothpick inserted in the center should come out dry. The omelet will settle slightly after baking - this is normal. Time may vary by oven.
Step 9
Slice into portions and serve warm. Enjoy!
