Preparation
Step 1
It’s important to choose the right boiled condensed milk. Nowadays, there are many options available. Good condensed milk should have a fat content of 8.5% and be thick.
Step 2
Place cornflakes into a bowl. If the flakes are large, crush them by hand. Cornflakes can be glazed or unglazed, thin or thick. Choose according to your taste, but note that glazed flakes increase the dessert’s calorie content and combined with condensed milk may taste sweeter.
Step 3
Finely chop walnuts with a knife or blend them. You can replace walnuts with any other nuts you prefer: hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts, pecans, etc. A very interesting combination is boiled condensed milk with salted roasted peanuts.
Step 4
In a bowl, combine cornflakes and chopped nuts. Mix well.
Step 5
Add boiled condensed milk.
Step 6
Thoroughly mix the mass. The condensed milk should evenly coat all cornflakes and nuts.
Step 7
With moist hands, shape the mixture into cone-shaped “pinecones.” You can form the cones using cone-shaped dessert cups: simply fill them with the mixture and press firmly. If you don’t have such cups, shape them by hand. This recipe yields about 8 cones. Place the shaped cones in the refrigerator for 3 hours. If using cups, remove cones onto a plate after cooling.
Step 8
Lightly dust the finished cones with powdered sugar and serve. Enjoy!
