Mixed Meat Solyanka Cooked in a Cast-Iron Pot over Coals
Unusual, hearty, tasty, and not difficult. This recipe is especially useful for those who have an outdoor oven setup. Cooking turns out much easier than on a regular home gas stove.

- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Before loading the cauldron, prepare the ingredients. Cut the potatoes into large wedges.
Step 2
Slice the onion into half-rings, removing the core first.
Step 3
Slice the bell pepper into long strips, removing the seeds.
Step 4
Slice the pickles into rings, cutting off the ends.
Step 5
Slice the tomato into rings.
Step 6
Slice the smoked sausages into rings as well.
Step 7
Slice the hot dogs into rings.
Step 8
Separate the ribs into individual pieces.
Step 9
Put the ribs into the cast-iron pot first, then add the potatoes, onion, bell pepper, hot pepper; season with salt and pepper.
Step 10
Next, add the pickles.
Step 11
On top of the pickles, add the smoked sausage rings.
Step 12
Add tomato paste and the tomato slices.
Step 13
Pour in water, leaving at least 2 cm (about 3/4 inch) from the rim.
Step 14
Cover with a lid and place in the oven/coals for at least 4 hours.
Step 15
After the set time, the dish will be ready. Serve the solyanka with sour cream, herbs, olives, and, of course, lemon!
