Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
For the base, you can use any white bread - a loaf, baguette, ciabatta, or hearth bread. The key is that it should be fresh and soft. Stale bread will become even harder in the microwave. Also make sure the bread size fits your microwave.
Step 2
Any cheese will work for this recipe - hard, semi-hard, or soft like mozzarella. The important thing is that it’s tasty, good quality, without artificial fat substitutes, and melts well. Grate the cheese using a coarse grater.
Step 3
Any type of sausage product will work - cooked sausage, frankfurters, smoked, semi-smoked, bacon, ham. Choose what you like or have on hand. I used semi-smoked, like cervelat. Slice the sausage into thin rings.
Step 4
Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft ones will fall apart during slicing and cooking, ruining the dish’s appearance. Wash and dry the tomatoes. Slice them into rounds. You can also use cherry tomatoes – slice them in half.
Step 5
Now prepare the pizza base. Take your bread and cut off the bottom. Choose the thickness to your liking – I made mine thicker because the bread was very soft and got squashed easily. The ingredient amount in this recipe makes two medium pizzas. You can use the top of the loaf for the second one, just cut off the round top to make it stable.
Step 6
Mix ketchup with mayonnaise and spread the mixture onto the bread. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Step 7
Add slices of sausage and tomato. I layered them slightly overlapping.
Step 8
Sprinkle more cheese over the top, then add olives.
Step 9
Place the pizza on a microwave-safe plate that fits in your microwave. Set it to the highest power setting - mine is 750 watts.
Step 10
Cook the pizza for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your microwave’s power and model. The key sign that it’s ready is fully melted cheese. Mine took 4 minutes.
Step 11
Carefully remove the pizza from the microwave. Caution! The plate will be very hot. Serve the pizza hot, straight from the microwave - that’s when it’s tastiest.
Step 12
You can garnish the pizza with fresh greens like basil or arugula before serving. Enjoy your meal!
