Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients needed for cooking.
Step 2
Heat oil in a frying pan for the filling and add finely chopped onion. Fry for a few minutes while stirring.
Step 3
Add the minced meat to the pan and cook until the meat is browned.
Step 4
Add the spices - curry, thyme, chili flakes, salt - and crumble in the stock cubes. Mix everything well.
Step 5
Cut the carrots and potatoes into pieces and add them to the pan with the meat.
Step 6
Pour in the water and cook everything for about 20 minutes, until the vegetables soften.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix the flour and water. Stir until smooth.
Step 8
Pour the mixture into the pan and stir well so the filling thickens. Then remove the pan from the heat and leave it to cool.
Step 9
To prepare the pastry, add flour, baking powder and salt to a bowl.
Step 10
Add the butter cut into pieces to the flour.
Step 11
Rub the butter into the flour with your fingers until the mixture resembles damp crumbs.
Step 12
Gradually add water to the mixture while kneading. Add enough water to form a smooth dough. To make kneading easier, transfer the dough onto a work surface and knead slightly. Then return it to the bowl, cover with cling film and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 13
Roll the dough out thinly and cut out circles of the desired size.

Place a small amount of filling onto the dough.
Step 15
Fold the dough circle in half to enclose the filling. Press the edges with a fork and also make a few holes with the fork for steam to escape.
Step 16
Place the pastries on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush them with beaten egg. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for about 25-30 minutes, until the pastries are nicely golden brown.
Step 17
Serve the baked pies hot or cold.
