Microwave Bread Croutons
Crunchy and aromatic, they disappear down to the last crumb. Making bread croutons in the microwave is very easy and takes little time. They turn out delicious and are loved by both adults and children. It is hard to stop eating them.

Step 1
How do you make homemade bread croutons in the microwave? Prepare the ingredients. These croutons can be made from any bread: dark, white, or mixed-grain. It is best if the bread is not very fresh. I usually use bread whose shelf life is already nearing the end. You can use any vegetable oil, from sunflower to olive oil, but it must be refined so it does not burn during heating.
Step 2
Cut the bread in any way that is convenient for you. You can cut it into smaller or larger pieces, depending on your taste.
Step 3
Prepare cookware that is safe to use in the microwave. As a reminder, glass, porcelain, wooden, and even paper dishes are suitable for microwave use. Metal dishes and other metal objects, as well as dishes with shiny decorative patterns, must not be used in the microwave. Otherwise, they will spark during cooking. Place the sliced bread onto a plate or directly onto the rotating glass tray of the microwave.
Step 4
Cook at medium power, about 600–800 watts, for approximately 15 minutes. In your microwave, the croutons may cook faster or slower, so keep an eye on the process. Every 3–5 minutes, though in some microwaves it may need to be even more often, I opened the microwave and stirred the pieces. Salt the finished croutons. If you like, you can add pepper, ground paprika, or herbes de Provence. Or perhaps you have other favorite seasonings.
Step 5
I suggest making the croutons with a garlic aroma. Heat a little vegetable oil in a skillet. Peel the garlic and add it to the skillet. I pressed the garlic through a garlic press, but you can also grate it on a fine grater or simply chop it with a knife.
Step 6
Lightly fry the garlic, just for 1-2 minutes. Be careful. Garlic burns very quickly, and it should only release its aroma into the oil.
Step 7
Pour the hot oil with the garlic over the finished croutons and mix immediately.
