Preparation
Step 1
How to make a meringue cake with sweetened condensed milk? Prepare everything you need. Choose sweetened condensed milk that lists only milk and sugar in the ingredients, and use butter with at least 82.5% fat.
Step 2
For this, take a fresh egg and sugar. Separate the white from the yolk.
Step 3
Grind the sugar in a coffee grinder into powdered sugar, then mix it with the egg white.
Step 4
Beat with a mixer, gradually, until stiff peaks form.
Step 5
Spoon onto a baking sheet and dry in the oven at 90°C (194°F) for about 2 hours. The time is approximate - adjust for your oven.
Step 6
How to make the cream? Use softened butter.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix about 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk with cocoa. This will be used later to decorate the cake. Stir until smooth.
Step 8
Add sweetened condensed milk to the butter and beat well until smooth and uniform. The cream is ready.
Step 9
Now spread cream on each meringue and stack them into a mound, “gluing” them together.
Step 10
Pour the chocolate mixture over the top. You can add chopped nuts, grated chocolate, or tart berries if you like. Cranberries or lingonberries work especially well - their tang balances the cake’s sweetness.
