Preparation
Step 1
How do you make meat lasagna? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any ground meat; I used pork and beef. I use ready-made lasagna sheets, but you can make them yourself. Choose the best-quality cheese, without milk fat substitutes, and one that melts well.
Step 2
Start by preparing the meat Bolognese sauce. How do you make Bolognese sauce? Wash, peel, and finely chop the onion.
Step 3
Wash and peel the carrot, then grate it on a coarse grater.
Step 4
In a pan with olive oil, fry the onion until golden, stirring from time to time so it does not burn.
Step 5
Add the carrot and mix. Fry the vegetables over medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add the ground meat to the pan and mix. Fry the meat, stirring, until it changes color, about 10 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the skin from the tomato, then grate it.
Step 8
Add the tomato purée and tomato paste to the ground meat, pour in the water, season with salt, and mix. Simmer the sauce under a lid over low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 9
Add Italian herbs or any other spices and seasonings to taste, then mix. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
Step 10
Prepare the lasagna sheets. Boil them in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, no longer. I placed 2 sheets in the water at a time, holding the top one on a slotted spoon so the sheets would not stick together.
Step 11
Place the lasagna sheets one by one on a cotton towel.
Step 12
Prepare the béchamel sauce. How do you make béchamel sauce? Melt the butter in a saucepan.
Step 13
Add the flour and mix quickly. Cook the flour over low heat, stirring, until golden.
Step 14
Pour in the room-temperature milk in small portions, rubbing the mixture well each time until the flour lumps disappear.
Step 15
Lightly season the sauce with salt, add the nutmeg, and mix. Bring the sauce to a boil over low heat, cook for 2 minutes until thickened, then remove from the stove.
Step 16
Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 17
Now assemble the lasagna. Grease the bottom of the baking dish with béchamel sauce. Add the lasagna sheets. I used a square 19 x 19 cm / about 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inch dish, and each layer took 2 sheets.
Step 18
Spread the meat sauce over the lasagna sheets.
Step 19
Then add béchamel sauce and grated cheese. Assemble the whole lasagna in this order. I got 4 layers of sheets and 3 layers with filling.
Step 20
Spread béchamel sauce over the top layer of lasagna sheets and sprinkle with grated Parmesan. Bake the lasagna in an oven preheated to 180°C / 356°F for 35 minutes, until golden. Serve the meat lasagna hot. Enjoy!
