Lemon Ginger Turmeric Honey Drink

An excellent remedy for preventing colds! A drink made from ginger, turmeric, lemon, and honey has wonderful healing properties and helps strengthen the immune system. Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients. Adjust the amount of honey, lemons, ginger, and turmeric to your taste. Honey can be replaced with sugar or another sweetener. Fresh ginger can be replaced with 2 tbsp dried ginger.
Step 2
Since lemon is used with the peel, wash it thoroughly, scrub with a brush, and rinse again. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice using a manual or electric juicer.
Step 3
Grate off the thin yellow layer of zest, avoiding the bitter white pith. The more pith, the more bitter the drink will be.
Step 4
Peel the ginger root and cut into small cubes or grate on a fine grater. Ginger gives the drink its spiciness, so if you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount by half.
Step 5
Put the chopped ginger and lemon zest into a saucepan. Add 4 cups (1 liter) of water. Place on medium heat and bring to a boil. Simmer, stirring, for 5-7 minutes.

Add 1 tsp turmeric and simmer another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Strain the drink through a sieve or cheesecloth and let it cool.
Step 8
Add lemon juice and honey to the still-warm drink. Stir well until the honey is completely dissolved.

Pour into glasses. Serve warm or chilled. Enjoy!
