Easy
About 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
How to make a lavash roll with sausage and cheese? Prepare the needed ingredients. Use any sausage you like: dry-cured, smoked, or cooked. I have one long sheet of lavash. If you have several smaller sheets, you can overlap them into a large rectangle, or make a layered roll by spreading each layer with mayonnaise and sprinkling on the filling.
Step 2
Cut the sausage into small strips or cubes.
Step 3
Wash and pat dry the tomato, then slice into small pieces. I first planned thin rounds, but for easier rolling I cut the rounds into strips. If the tomatoes are very watery, they can soak the lavash, so it’s better to remove the seedy core.
Step 4
Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater.
Step 5
Rinse the herbs, pat dry, and chop finely.
Step 6
Combine the mayonnaise with the herbs and 1 garlic clove pressed through a garlic press. Mix well.
Step 7
Spread the lavash evenly with the mayonnaise sauce. I also sprinkled extra chopped fresh herbs on top.
Step 8
Evenly distribute the sausage pieces and sprinkle with grated cheese. Place the sausage so it won’t tear the lavash when rolling; I arranged it parallel to the short edge.
Step 9
Arrange the tomato pieces over the cheese.
Step 10
Roll the lavash up tightly.
Step 11
Wrap the roll in plastic wrap (or a bag) and refrigerate for 1 hour to chill and let it soak.
Step 12
Before serving, slice into pieces. If you want to serve it hot, brush with beaten egg, place on a baking sheet, and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for 15-20 minutes until a golden crust appears. You can also use the grill/broil setting. Enjoy!
