Preparation
Step 1
How to make a lavash roll with processed cheese? First, prepare the needed ingredients. This recipe works with traditional Armenian lavash or a wheat wrap/roll - depending on what you can find in the store. If your lavash or wrap is very long (mine was about 1 m / 3.3 ft), cut it in half into two pieces. If the lavash is small, use 2 sheets.
Step 2
Wash the cucumber, pat it dry, and slice into thin rounds. You don’t have to peel it if the skin isn’t tough, damaged, or bitter. However, so the cucumber won’t tear the lavash, I peeled it.
Step 3
Hard-boil the eggs, cool them, peel, and grate on a coarse grater.
Step 4
Remove basil leaves from the stems and rinse. I didn’t have fresh basil, so I replaced it with young baby spinach.
Step 5
Remove the seeds and stem from the bell pepper and dice the flesh into small cubes.
Step 6
Press the garlic through a garlic press or grate it finely.
Step 7
In a small bowl, combine the processed cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic, and mix.
Step 8
Spread half of the cheese–mayonnaise mixture over the first sheet of lavash.
Step 9
Sprinkle with half of the grated eggs and arrange the cucumber slices.
Step 10
Cover with the second sheet of lavash. Sprinkle with the remaining grated eggs and the bell pepper. Top with basil or spinach leaves.
Step 11
Roll the lavash up tightly and wrap it in plastic wrap.
Step 12
Refrigerate for 1 hour so it can soak and set.
Step 13
Slice the chilled roll into portions and serve. Enjoy!
