Kefir and Vegetable Oil Cookies
A quick recipe for tender homemade baking for tea! These wonderful cookies made from shortcrust-style dough with vegetable oil and kefir turn out soft, airy, and perfect for tea at breakfast or lunch!

Step 1
How do you make delicious kefir and vegetable oil cookies to serve with tea? First, prepare the ingredients - simple pantry staples most home cooks already have.

Take a large bowl and crack in 1 egg, then add 1 tbsp sugar, 1/3 tsp salt, and 1 tsp vanilla sugar.
Step 3
Mix all the ingredients well in the bowl.
Step 4
Pour 150 ml room-temperature kefir into the egg mixture and stir to combine.
Step 5
Add 80 ml vegetable oil and mix until smooth.
Step 6
Using a fine sieve, sift 350 g all-purpose flour (wheat flour) into the bowl in parts, then add 1 tsp baking powder.
Step 7
Stir everything together and knead into a dough.
Step 8
Knead the dough in the bowl until it’s uniform.
Step 9
Gather the dough into a ball, place it in a plastic bag, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 10
After the time is up, lightly flour the table, place the dough on it, and press it into a flat round.

Roll the dough out to about 4-5 mm thick.

Use a cookie cutter of a suitable size to cut out the cookies.

Dip each piece in sugar and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Put the tray into an oven preheated to 170°C (340°F) and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Transfer the baked cookies to plates and serve.
