Preparation
Step 1
How do you make “Jealous” salad with chicken, corn, and croutons? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the vegetables and the mandarin and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Step 2
First, make the croutons. Cut the loaf/bread into cubes - small enough to eat comfortably. Toss the cubes with Provençal herbs, salt, and minced garlic. Pour vegetable oil into a skillet and heat over medium. Add the bread cubes and toast until golden and as crisp as you like. Transfer to a plate and let cool.
Step 3
Rinse the chicken fillet (I used breast), pat dry, and slice into thin strips. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, salt, and mix. Heat refined vegetable oil in a skillet over medium. Add the chicken and fry, stirring, for about 4 minutes, until cooked through. Transfer to a plate and let cool completely.
Step 4
For the cheese balls, mix the cheese, finely chopped dill, minced garlic, and dried basil. Grease your hands with a little vegetable oil and roll the mixture into balls about the size of a hazelnut. Refrigerate for now.
Step 5
Thinly shred the Chinese (Napa) cabbage and put it in a bowl.
Step 6
Remove the stem and seeds from the bell pepper and cut into thin strips. Add to the bowl with the cabbage.
Step 7
Drain the canned corn completely and add it to the bowl with the vegetables.
Step 8
Peel the onion, finely chop it, and add to the bowl. If the onion is very sharp, pour hot water over it for 1-2 minutes, then drain. Or marinate it in lemon juice with a little sugar.
Step 9
Cut off the ends of the cucumber and slice it into thin strips. Add to the salad bowl.
Step 10
Salt everything and mix. Keep in mind the dressing is mayonnaise-based, so use less salt - or skip it.
Step 11
Add the chicken fillet and mix again.
Step 12
For the dressing, put mayonnaise and minced garlic in a bowl, pour in soy sauce, and mix.
Step 13
Squeeze juice from the mandarin, add it to the dressing, and mix well.
Step 14
Transfer the salad to a serving bowl and drizzle with the dressing.
Step 15
Spread the prepared croutons over the top.
Step 16
Add the cheese balls and serve.
Step 17
Enjoy your meal!
