Advice
Choose high-quality, trusted condensed milk - free of vegetable fats and additives. It should contain only two ingredients: milk and sugar. The quality of the condensed milk will determine the final taste of the dessert.
Preparation
Step 1
You can boil condensed milk yourself or use pre-made. Use full-fat milk for richer flavor, or replace with any type of cream. Any cookies will work - mine were chocolate. Use syrup to taste (I used maple). For an adult version, use cream liqueur instead of syrup.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine condensed milk and regular milk. Use a mixer or immersion blender to blend until smooth and lump-free.
Step 3
The mixture should be smooth and caramel-colored.
Step 4
Crush cookies into crumbs. The easiest way is to place them in a bag and crush with a rolling pin. Leave a few larger chunks for texture and flavor.
Step 5
Pour the crushed cookies into the milk mixture. Add the syrup. Use a spatula to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
Step 6
Pour the mixture into a lidded container and place it in the freezer. After 1 hour, stir with a spoon and return to the freezer. Repeat this process every hour until fully frozen. Stirring helps prevent ice crystals from forming.
Step 7
Before serving, take the ice cream out 5 minutes in advance to soften slightly. Serve immediately. Note: It melts quickly since it’s made with milk. Enjoy!
