Ice Cream Cake at Home

Preparation
Step 1
Instead of waffle layers, you can use other types - shortbread, sponge, or honey cake layers. Thin layers are preferable but not essential. You can use two layers with an ice cream filling between them. Choose seasonal or your favorite berries.
Step 2
Trim four waffle layers with scissors to fit your pan.
Step 3
Take a large bowl and pour in chilled heavy cream (33%), then add 200 g (about 7 oz) of sweetened condensed milk.
Step 4
Beat the cream and condensed milk with a mixer until thick and fluffy.
Step 5
In another small bowl, mix 200 g (7 oz) of sweetened condensed milk with 200 g (7 oz) of boiled condensed milk until smooth.
Step 6
Spread half of the boiled condensed milk mixture on two waffle layers, smoothing evenly.
Step 7
Start assembling the cake. Use a round form with sides. Place one plain waffle layer on the bottom, spread about three heaping tablespoons of the whipped cream mixture evenly.
Step 8
Place a layer spread with boiled condensed milk on top, cream-side down. Gently press it with your hand.
Step 9
Spread another three tablespoons of the whipped cream mixture evenly over the top.
Step 10
Add another waffle layer spread with boiled condensed milk, cream-side down. Press lightly and top again with the whipped cream layer. Place the last, fourth plain waffle layer on top and press down gently but firmly.
Step 11
Spread about three tablespoons of the whipped cream mixture on top, creating a slightly textured surface. You can decorate it with a fork, spoon, or piping tip.
Step 12
Crush the trimmings of the waffle layers in a blender or by hand, and sprinkle over the top of the cake. If you decorated with cream patterns, you can skip the crumbs. Place the cake in the freezer for 5 hours.
Step 13
After 5 hours, remove the cake from the freezer, take it out of the form, and place it on a serving plate. Decorate with fresh strawberries, cherries, or any fruits you like.

Slice the finished cake into portions, place on plates, and serve.
