Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
This recipe works not only for mussels but also for other seafood like squid, octopus, or shrimp.
Step 2
Rinse the mussels under cool running water and pat dry. You may thaw them beforehand in the refrigerator and drain any liquid.
Step 3
Rinse and dry the green beans as well. You can use fresh ones instead of frozen if preferred.
Step 4
Peel and finely chop the garlic, or press it through a garlic press.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the mussels.
Step 6
Add the green beans and garlic. Sauté together for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 7
Reduce the heat to low and cook the mussels for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with your preferred spices - paprika, chili, ginger, or khmeli-suneli are great options. Since soy sauce adds saltiness, you may not need extra salt, but season to taste if desired.
Step 8
Drizzle the seafood with freshly squeezed lemon juice and soy sauce. Stir well, then remove the skillet from heat.
Step 9
Sprinkle the mussels and green beans with fresh herbs and serve immediately - pairs perfectly with white wine. Enjoy!
