Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
For making the sandwiches, you can use any bread you like - white or dark. Mushrooms can also be any variety. I used fresh champignons.
Step 2
Finely chop the peeled onion, washed mushrooms, and bacon. I used smoked bacon - it’s very aromatic. You can leave it out if you prefer. Heat a skillet with a little vegetable oil, sauté the onion for 1 minute, then add mushrooms and bacon. Stir and cook together for 4-5 minutes. You may add a little salt if needed, but remember the bacon is salty.
Step 3
Let the mushroom filling cool slightly, then add grated hard cheese and mix.
Step 4
Lightly grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil. Spread the prepared filling evenly on bread slices and place them on the sheet. During baking, the bread will absorb some oil from underneath and become slightly toasted, giving you crispy sandwiches.
Step 5
Bake the sandwiches for 10-15 minutes in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C). Remove from the oven, transfer to a plate, and serve hot. By this time, the cheese will have fully melted. Enjoy!
