Preparation
Step 1
How do you make homemade chicken and cheese quesadilla? Prepare the ingredients. Wash the vegetables and herbs, dry them, and cut them in any convenient way. Cut the onion into rings. Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces and fry it until cooked through. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Heat a skillet with low sides and a nonstick coating over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium. Place the first tortilla in the skillet. Put a little cheese, the tomatoes, and the meat on top.
Step 2
Place the onion rings over the other ingredients on the tortilla. You can use either regular onion or red onion.
Step 3
Put the chopped herbs and the remaining cheese on top of the onion rings. The total frying time for the first tortilla should not exceed 2 minutes so that it does not burn.
Step 4
Add the finely chopped bell pepper. Salt to taste. It is better to use red or green bell pepper. I think the quesadilla looks more striking in cross-section with those colors.
Step 5
Cover everything with the second tortilla. Wait half a minute until the cheese melts and sticks to the tortilla. Then flip the quesadilla to the other side and fry it for another couple of minutes. Usually, as soon as it is removed from the heat, the quesadilla is cut with a pizza cutter into 4 equal segments and served immediately. Enjoy your meal!
